Sigma's 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM Contemporary Lens for Sony A is another addition to the Sigma Global Vision Contemporary line. Designed for APS-C cameras, it offers a 27-450mm equivalent and incorporates state-of-the-art Sigma technology. This version also offers optical image stabilization for reducing the effects of camera shake at longer focal lengths and slower shutter speeds. The lens also has a maximum aperture range of f/3.5-6.3 and benefits from the inclusion of one SLD and four FLD elements. Additionally, a Super Multi-Layer coating on the elements results in less flare, improved image contrast and true color fidelity. This lens is compatible with the optional Sigma USB Dock for fine-tuning different lens characteristics and updating its firmware. It offers a 76.5° - 5.4° angle of view and accepts 72mm front end filters.

When photographing with point light sources such as electric lights or reflections on a body of water in the background, the rounded 7-blade diaphragm helps produce an attractive bokeh effect - even at large-aperture settings.
