Pentax HD DA Fish-Eye 10-17mm F3.5-4.5 ED Lens
Designed for use with PENTAX K-mount DSLR cameras, the Pentax HD DA Fish-Eye 10-17mm F3.5-4.5 ED Lens provides a zoom range covering the fish-eye to ultra-wide angles. By applying the latest HD coating and redesigning the coatings specifically for this product, flare and ghosting are effectively minimized. Although this lens offers an ultra wide-angle view, it barely gets affected by strong light sources such as the sun and is now re-introduced as a lens with clear depiction.
The exterior is also redesigned according to the latest Pentax lens series. The previously fixed hood has been changed to demountable bayonet type, which can widen the pleasures to K-1 series users. When attaching this lens to 35mm full-frame DSLR cameras, it can shoot fish-eye images with a nearly round shape at the wide end, plus shoot diagonal fish-eye images at tele end without vignetting.
HD Coating
Using the latest multi coating technology, this lens delivers a high-resolution, high-contrast image that is sharp and clear even at the edges. Even under harsh conditions with a strong light source, HD Coating effectively reduces ghost and flare to minimum, compared to conventional multi-layer coatings. This zoom lens also incorporates an Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass element to effectively compensate for chromatic aberration for extra-clear, high-contrast images.
Zoom Range
When mounted on a Pentax DSLR camera body, this zoom lens provides a 180-degree diagonal angle of view in the APS-C format at a focal length of 10mm to deliver eye-catching fish-eye images. Since the angle of view shifts dramatically with a slight change of focal length, you easily create visual expressions typical of an ultra-wide-angle lens, such as exaggerated perspective, deformed subjects and a pan-focus effect to capture the entire image field in focus.
Detachable Hood
By adopting a demountable bayonet lens hood, it is possible to shoot a nearly circular fish-eye image, expanding the range of photographic expressions when mounted on a Pentax K-1 or Pentax K-1 Mark II full-frame camera body.
New Exterior Design
This lens keeps the compact size of its predecessor. It features a totally new exterior design, including changing the design of the zoom and focus rings to that of the latest DA- and D FA-series models. It also includes the new design for the model plate, the green ring has been moved closer to the front of the lens and the DA badge on the side has been updated to the latest version.
Super Protect Coating
Pentax’s original “SP Coating” is used for easy maintenance. SP Coating has been applied to the lens’s front surface using a Pentax-exclusive fluorine deposition process. Highly repellent to water and grease, it not only prevents adhesion of dust, water drops and oils, but also makes it easy to wipe away stains, such as fingerprints, from the lens surface.
Quick Shift Focus System
Quick-Shift Focus System allows for seamless switching from auto focus (AF) to manual focus (MF). When in-focus using AF, turning the focus ring immediately switches to manual focus. This eliminates the need for switching from AF to MF, allowing for smooth focusing.
