As a part of the Sigma Art line of lenses, the Sigma 28mm f/1.4 DG HSM was built from the highest quality materials and optical technologies. The high-speed AF, thanks to the HSM with an updated algorithm, captures instantaneous photography movement. With a water and oil repellant coating, this Sigma lens was meant to last through even the most challenging shooting conditions.
Superior Construction
The Sigma 28mm lens incorporates two FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass elements and three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element to provide excellent correction of distortion and chromatic aberration. The Art Line lens effectively arranges three aspherical lenses, including a large-diameter aspherical lens to give you correction magnification aberration commonly found in other wide-angle lenses. When used with a camera with an ASP-C sensor, the lens provides an equivalent focal length of 44.8mm.
Intuitive Design
The water and oil repellant coating on the 28mm lens combines with a dust and splashproof structure to ensure excellent performance no matter where the journey takes you. A specialized electromagnetic aperture mechanism provides greater exposure control stability for superior continuous shooting rates. A Super Multi-Layer Coating was applied to the optical lenses in order to effectively eliminate lens flare and ghosting. With the spectacularly bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, the wide-angle prime 28mm lens is excellent for use in low-light conditions and gives you far greater control over the focus position.
