Omni-directional
Omni-directional: Picks up sound equally from all directions. A good choice when the sound of the surrounding environment is to be recorded.
Super-directional (Rear)
Super-directional (Rear): Sound is primarily picked up from the rear of the microphone, with frontal sound being picked up at a lower level. This mode is useful for shooting scenery while the operator provides narration from behind the camera.

Super-directional (Front+Rear): Sound is picked up equally from the front and rear of the microphone, along with less sound from the left and right sides. The lightweight mount is made out of a single-piece aluminum alloy to offer additional strength; moreover, the built-in backstops provide secure mounting to the attached accessories of DSLR.
