Ricoh GR III Premium Digital Camera with GW-4 Wide Conversion Lens, GA-1 Lens Adapter, and Battery

Ricoh GR III Premium Compact Digital Camera

Despite its ultra portable size, the Ricoh GR Ⅲ Premium Compact Digital Camera offers professional level quality at an affordable price. Like other cameras in the Ricoh GR Digital series including the wildly popular Ricoh GR II, the new Ricoh GR camera earns its nickname The Ultimate Snap Shooter.

Shake Reduction and Dust Removal

The GR III from Ricoh Imaging reduces shake and dust at a premium level. It is capable of blur-free images at slow shutter speeds up to 1/4 second. Unlike DSLR Shake Reduction (SR) units that need to be compatible with various interchangeable lenses, the GR III's SR unit is optimized for the integrated 28mm fixed focal length lens. This SR unit gives you more reduction than that of other cameras.

As for dust, the GR III uses an Image Sensor Cleaning dust removal system that takes advantage of ultrasonic vibrations. By default, this system is activated at startup and shutdown.

Lens Performance

The lens is constructed using 6 elements in 4 groups (2 aspherical lens elements) and features improved macro and optical performance. This gets you higher resolution and contrast from center to edge, plus reduced ghost and flare. When retracted, the GR III's lens barrel is 1.5mm thinner than the that of the GR and GR II.

Premium Image Quality

The GR III features a 23.5mm x 15.6mm APS-C image sensor with 24.23 megapixels. Where the GR II featured 12-bit RAW DNG, the GR III brings it up to 14-bit for improved tonality and broader tolerance for RAW image editing. The GR III also offers 15MP at a 35mm crop and 7MP at a 50mm crop.

In tandem with the new Ricoh GR Engine 6 and upgraded image algorithms, the new sensor allows for more natural, richer colors and more refined images. Furthermore, the redesigned optical lens construction produces improved micro-contrast.

More Responsive

This camera provides quicker response than previous iterations. Ricoh cut the startup time down to .8 second from 1 second. Plus, the GR III provides faster and more precise autofocus.

Easy to Operate

Ricoh rearranged the control keys to ensure more intuitive and efficient operation yet still left space for the thumb grip. It features a new 3-inch touch LCD screen with capacitive sensing. This advanced features allows the tap, swipe, pinch-in and pinch-out gestures you are used to using on your smartphone. The display allows you to select menu items and quick-select the focusing point, as well as pinch-magnify on image playback.

Not only that, but the GR III offers more customization and operation controls. It allows you to program assignable functions on the ADJ lever, the Fn button and Touch AF options.

Compact Housing

The smaller design of the GR III (4.3 x 1.3 x 2.4 inches) is achievable even despite the APS-C sensor, thanks to the redesigned optical system. It has a lens unit that is thinner in depth and a compact SR unit.

Firmware Updates

The Ricoh GR series doesn't only provide firmware updates to fix bugs. You can expect updates whenever Ricoh adds new features, functions and improvements. Most such improvements come at the request of GR users themselves, making it a truly customer-driven product.

Wireless Capabilities

With Bluetooth BLE capabilities, the GR III makes it possible to easily pair to other devices. And the Bluetooth is responsive to the wireless LAN function, which will automatically turn on and off when you connect and disconnect your Bluetooth.
