RICOH GR IV HDF Premium Compact Camera with Highlight Diffusion Filter (Black)
Introducing the RICOH GR IV HDF
Ricoh Imaging proudly presents the RICOH GR IV HDF, the latest evolution of the acclaimed GR series of premium compact cameras. Building on the GR IV’s renowned combination of exceptional image quality, flawless point-and-shoot operation, and outstanding portability, the GR IV HDF introduces a RICOH-original Highlight Diffusion Filter (HDF). This innovative filter allows photographers to effortlessly create soft, expressive images with a nostalgic, film-like aesthetic, expanding the creative possibilities of everyday photography.
RICOH HDF Highlight Diffusion Filter
At the heart of the GR IV HDF is the Highlight Diffusion Filter, developed using RICOH’s advanced imaging technology. This special-effect filter diffuses highlights and introduces a gentle blur along the edges of your images, delivering a mellow, artistic look reminiscent of classic film or vintage cinema. The HDF can be activated or deactivated instantly with a single action, allowing photographers to alternate between crisp, high-contrast GR-style images and soft, emotive photos with ease, depending on the subject and creative intention.
High-Speed Electronic Shutter
The GR IV HDF features an electronically controlled shutter mechanism that complements the conventional mechanical shutter. With speeds up to 1/16,000 second, this shutter enables photographers to shoot in extremely bright conditions while maintaining wide apertures for shallow depth-of-field effects. This feature enhances creative control and ensures flexibility in all lighting situations. A firmware update will also extend this capability to the original GR IV, following the launch of the HDF model.
Enhanced User Controls and Design
Functionality meets intuitive design in the GR IV HDF. The default setting of the Fn (Function) button has been updated to toggle the HDF filter on and off, allowing instant access to creative visual effects. Additionally, the shutter-release button has been updated from black to a grayish silver tone, subtly distinguishing this model and highlighting its unique HDF functionality. Note that the GR IV HDF does not include an ND (Neutral Density) filter, while all other features remain identical to the standard GR IV.
Creative Versatility for Every Photographer
Whether capturing high-resolution, sharply detailed images or experimenting with soft, atmospheric shots, the GR IV HDF empowers photographers with unparalleled creative versatility. By combining the classic strengths of the GR series with the unique HDF filter and high-speed shutter, this camera allows users to explore new visual expressions and achieve nostalgic, cinematic results in any shooting scenario.
