The Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 lens was built with high performance in mind. The optical design features 2 ED (extra-low dispersion) elements and one double-sided aspherical element to control spherical and chromatic aberrations. Four of the lens elements feature convex surfaces for better light coverage.
Unique Apodization Filter
An APD (apodization) filter gradually gets darker toward its edges to create a stunningly pleasing bokeh effect that is perfect for portraits. This lens’ unique nanotechnology APD filter provides one of the widest apertures around delivers portraits with a three dimensional feel. The XF 56mm f/1.2 R APD lens is the first to feature high precision autofocus with an apodization filter.
Superior Focusing
The XF 56mm lens features a stepping motor that pairs with the newly-designed focusing mechanism in order to fully handle the quick and accurate capture of focus. This function enables smooth and incredibly quiet continuous auto focusing capabilities while recording video or shooting still images. Handling of the lens is much easier because the length of the lens will not change during focusing. This technology also minimized illumination loss at the corners of the image field, supporting greater image integrity.
